What you get for free
The free version is the full tool, not a demo. You get the same live Ahrefs data, the same bulk checking, sorting, tier labels and CSV export as paying users. The only difference is the number of checks: 50 domains without signup plus 150 with a free account, then up to 1,000 per day on a plan.

How the free credits work
Free credits are given once per visitor. One credit checks one domain, and failed checks are never charged. Your remaining credits are shown above the checker at all times. When you create an account, you get 150 more and any unused free credits move with you.
To keep the free credits fair, checks without an account are paused on VPN and proxy connections. Logged-in users can use any connection.
When should you upgrade?
If you vet outreach lists every week, buy expired domains, or run an SEO agency, free checks go fast. Plans start at $10 per month for 1,000 checks per day, and there is a one-time lifetime option too.
